It's week three of the Spring 2021 One Room Challenge and just like that...all of the concrete in the backyard is officially gone and we are ready for a pool dig next week!
And by "just like that", I actually mean hours of back-breaking work jackhammering all of the concrete and loading it into the dumpster split between Joe, Chase and our amazing neighbor who is a GC. The concrete is actually taken to a place where it gets broken down into gravel size to be reused, which I thought was really cool. I helped as much as I could, but even the small slabs of broken up concrete are deceivingly heavy and I felt like I kept getting in the way. Of course I didn't give up the opportunity to climb into a dumpster for a photo op though😂
But now we have a clean slate (minus two bushes still) and that means it is time for a giant hole in the ground! It is also crazy how under about 6 inches of dirt, it is literally just sand, but hopefully that makes the actual pool dig easier. Fingers crossed!
