One Room Challenge Week 3: The Never-Ending Floor

It's already week 3 of the Fall 2021 One Room Challenge! This week was all about finishing the flooring install in the attic because that is literally the foundation for the rest of the space. The floors took a lot more time than I expected...SO. MANY. CUTS.

I was still working on the last crazy cuts of the flooring at 7pm on Sunday night. The plan was to get the baseboards installed in the bedroom part of the attic as well, but I was only able to muster up an Ikea desk drawer tower assembly. One of them has been assembled for over a year, but I remember it being such a frustrating experience, that I basically ignored the second one. This one's assembly wasn't as painful as I remembered, but it still took 1.5 hours across two different days! I was spent.

For week 4, we'll be focused on the baseboards throughout the entire attic, starting building the bypass doors for the mechanical closet and beginning the vertical shiplap/paneling in the stairwell.

Come back next week to check-in on the progress! Check out our week 1 & week 2 posts to see our full project list, the current state of the attic and our design plans.
