One Room Challenge Week 5: The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week

It's week 5 of the Spring 2021 One Room Challenge, but there's still no hole in the ground and I have been dealing with feeling under the weather due to allergies, so not a lot of progress has been made unfortunately. The plan is to really rally for the final 3 weeks and bang out as much as we possibly can while we wait for delayed items and materials to arrive!

We were able to get started on one fun project this week though! The weather finally cleared up and that meant it was time for spray paint. We fell in love with the Restoration Hardware Aviara collection in Slate for our upper deck (above the front porch), but it was too expensive for us for outdoor furniture, especially being so close to the beach and the salt air wreaking havoc on metal pieces. I did some googling and ended up finding this Modway/Lexmod Newbury line in teak and it was absolutely perfect. We still wanted it to be black because we have so many other brown/teak tones going on on the exterior of the house, but that's an easy fix with spray paint.

Since we won't have the upholstered outdoor sectional for the backyard for Summer 2021 (now backordered until February 2022), we decided to use this set back there for now and then relocate it to the upper deck. This will be a great placeholder around the fire bowl & who knows, maybe we will end up keeping it out back and nixing the sectional order, since we can still cancel it.

Come back next week to check-in on the progress! Check out our week 1, week 2, week 3 & week 4 posts to see everything that has happened to date.
